MAKKAH. Continuing a proud and unbroken legacy of compassionate healthcare, Abeer Medical Group has successfully concluded its comprehensive medical mission for the 2026 Hajj season, marking a monumental scale-up in its deployment and capabilities.
“Thank you from the bottom of my heart,” said Saudi Minister of Health Fahad bin Abdurrahman Al-Jalajel during his visit to the Abeer Medical Group team at Mina Al-Wadi Hospital. The Minister highly commended Abeer’s outstanding efforts in ensuring the hospital’s smooth and seamless operations throughout the Hajj season.
This year, Abeer transitioned from operating urgent care clinics in previous years to shouldering a massive, high-stakes responsibility: managing the Mina Al-Wadi Hospital, a fully equipped 200-bed facility situated right in the heart of the holy sites.

Over the course of the holy days, the Mina Al-Wadi Hospital served as a vital lifeline for the global community. Hundreds of pilgrims hailing from dozens of countries received swift, expert medical treatment, ensuring they could fulfill their spiritual journeys safely. “Last year we ran urgent medical clinics. This year, the stakes were higher, and the responsibility was vast. But our mission remained the same: unconditional care,” noted Dr. Ahmed Alungal, Executive Vice President of Abeer Medical Group.
The operation in Mina was seamlessly supported back in Makkah by Abeer’s flagship Saudi National Hospital (SNH). This year, SNH dramatically expanded its clinical footprint by introducing a brand-new, state-of-the-art Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The facility successfully performed more than 100 cath lab procedures during this period.
The advanced facility provided critical, lifesaving relief to hundreds of high-acuity patients, reinforcing the group’s ability to handle complex medical emergencies during peak pilgrimage hours.
An extraordinary mobilization of human capital made this success possible. For over a month, a dedicated army of “Abeerians”—comprising doctors, nurses, paramedics, and administrative staff—worked tirelessly around the clock across Makkah and Mina to establish, manage, and sustain these sprawling medical services.
This massive initiative was driven from the front by Abeer’s top leadership, including President Alungal Muhammed and Executive Vice President Ahmed Alungal. Crucial leadership roles were also executed by Vice Presidents Dr. Jemshith Ahmed, Dr. Afzar Ehtesham, and Jabir Valiyakath, alongside Associate Vice President Dr. Faheem Rahman and Hajj Project Director Dr. Saad Khan.
Through strategic foresight and relentless dedication, the team ensured that this massive logistical and clinical undertaking operated without a hitch, firmly cementing Abeer’s enduring legacy as a cornerstone of Hajj healthcare.
