SAJEX 2025 Opens in Jeddah with Global Spotlight on Jewellery & Investment

JEDDAH. The Jeddah Superdome sparkled brighter than ever today as Saudi Arabia witnessed the grand inauguration of the Saudi Arabia Jewellery Exposition (SAJEX 2025), the Kingdom’s first and largest international B2B jewellery showcase.

Organised by the Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) of India in partnership with the Embassy of India in Riyadh, the Consulate General of India in Jeddah, and with support from Invest Saudi and the Chambers of Commerce of Jeddah and Makkah, the event brought together over 200 exhibitors from India and across the globe. The exhibition floor buzzed with fine jewellery collections, gemstones, and innovative design concepts, setting the stage for a new era of luxury trade in the region.

The inauguration was marked by a strong line-up of dignitaries, including HRH Princess Nourah Al-Faisal, designer & entrepreneur and founder of Nuun Jewels, Eng. Fahad Al Jubairy, Assistant Deputy Minister for Industrial Investment at the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, senior officials from Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment, the Jeddah Gold Council, and Indian diplomatic representatives. Their presence underscored the growing importance of the gems and jewellery sector in strengthening India–Saudi trade and investment ties under the Kingdom’s Vision 2030.

Speaking at the opening, Shri Kirit Bhansali, Chairman of GJEPC, called SAJEX a turning point in bilateral cooperation. Echoing this, Khalid Al Sheddi from the Ministry of Investment said the expo was a timely platform to deepen trade linkages. Dr. Suhel Ajaz Khan, Ambassador of India to Saudi Arabia, highlighted complementarities between the two economies, while Shri Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, Consul General of India in Jeddah, described SAJEX as a bridge for industry-to-industry partnerships.

Beyond the exhibition, SAJEX added glamour and cultural vibrancy with a curated jewellery-apparel show by Indian designer Ashfaq, supported by Saudi partners, and a live musical performance by the Indian cultural troupe VIHARA. The release of the SAJEX special edition of Solitaire magazine and the official event catalogue further highlighted the industry’s anticipation.

One of the biggest knowledge-sharing platforms of the day was the World Jewellery Investment Forum, which ran alongside the expo. Moderated by Ms. Manisha Gupta of CNBC News 18, the forum hosted panels on investment prospects, retail and manufacturing trends, and the role of laboratories in building consumer trust. Industry leaders from Saudi Arabia, India, and other countries shared insights on innovation, GCC consumer preferences, and future strategies.

With international buyers, investors, and trade leaders under one roof, SAJEX 2025 is already being seen as a historic moment for the global jewellery industry — and a powerful new chapter in India–Saudi business collaboration.
