JEDDAH. Lulu Group, a leading Abu Dhabi based retail group, has signed an agreement with Aazr Gulf Commercial Company to establish and operate a commercial center in Al Madina Al Munawarah, as part of the Masjid Quba Renovation project. The initiative is part of the Saudi Crown Prince’s vision to enhance the holy city’s infrastructure and facilities. The center, which is expected to cost 200 million Saudi riyals, will cover an area of 100,000 square feet and will be home to a new hypermarket, along with other renowned retail brands.
The signing ceremony was attended by Yusuff Ali M.A., Chairman of Lulu Group, and Mr. Majed bin Saifi Bin Numahi Alamri, Chairman of Aazr Gulf Commercial Company, along with other senior officials. Upon completion, the commercial center is expected to be a significant attraction, drawing visitors from across the region to the city.
Mr. Majed bin Saifi Bin Numahi Alamri expressed confidence in Lulu Group’s contribution to the project, stating that the company is a leader in the global retail industry. Yusuff Ali M.A. thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, and the Saudi Arabian government for their continued support in driving investments and economic development. He also reiterated Lulu’s commitment to providing world-class shopping experiences and generating employment opportunities for Saudi citizens.
Currently, Lulu Group employs 3,000 Saudi nationals, including 790 women, in its various hypermarkets across the Kingdom. The company plans to create approximately 1,000 new job opportunities upon completion of the Al Madina Al Munawarah project, contributing to the government’s efforts to create more employment opportunities for its citizens.
