Thanal Jeddah Hosts Heartwarming Family Meet for Children with Special Needs

JEDDAH: Thanal Jeddah’s women’s wing, in collaboration with the Thanal Jeddah Chapter, organized a special family get-together for children with special needs and their parents. The event was envisioned as a meaningful effort to bring children, who are often confined within the four walls of their homes in the expat world, into public spaces and to alleviate the mental stress faced by both the children and their parents.

The gathering featured a variety of entertainment programs, including games, cultural activities, and sports competitions designed to boost the children’s confidence. The venue also provided a supportive platform for parents to share their personal experiences and offer mutual encouragement. The dedication of the Thanal Jeddah women’s wing in ensuring the event’s success earned widespread appreciation. Encouraged by the visible joy of the children and the gratitude expressed by parents, the organizers have decided to continue hosting such meet-ups every two weeks.

Furthermore, Thanal activists revealed that plans are underway to establish a special school in Jeddah for children with disabilities, along with an ‘Early Intervention Center’ catering specifically to children between the ages of 3 and 6.

The sessions were led by renowned educational trainer Irshad, along with Thanal representatives Aneesa Baiju and Nihala. Sharing their personal journeys, mothers like Jumana and Sherin discussed the various stages of caring for their children, which served as a great inspiration to other parents in attendance. The program commenced with a beautiful Quran recitation by Hani Younus. Parents interested in joining this community can contact Thanal Jeddah Ladies Wing representatives Aneesa Baiju (0563838163) or Nihala (0597929657).
